Eleanor Johnson

Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Healthcare Navigator

The SSVF Healthcare Navigator supports Veterans through the healthcare system either at Veteran Affairs or other coverage, and helps prevent veterans who are at imminent risk from becoming homeless.

What makes Eleanor passionate about working with veterans and marginalized citizens who have challenges is navigating and finding more resources that can give their lives the sustainability needed for fulfilling, healthy, wholesome livelihoods.

Eleanor has worked in the arts and social services assisting youth, seniors, and persons with disabilities for over 20 years. She spent quite a few years as a Family Case Manager, Community Health Worker for which she is certified from the Morehouse School of Medicine Prevention and Resource Center. Eleanor worked as a contractor for Florida’s Rehabilitation and Education to do physical restoration for those receiving disability income and wanted to return to work. Her last position was at Disability Network Wayne County as the Community Enrichment Resource Manager facilitating several grant projects regarding Health and Wellness for seniors and persons with disabilities.

Fun fact: Eleanor loves the art of dance and collecting music. Due to such love of dance, she has been fortunate to be able to keep dance in her life at some capacity even in her 60’s.
